Season Pass

The Skipton players are proud to present their season of 5 plays commencing in October 2025 and finishing in August 2026.

Love, Lies and the Doctor’s Dilemma by Michael and Susan Parker (Comedy)

7th – 11th October 2025

Joan Scheller, eager to keep her romance with Sandy secret from her overbearing sister-in-law Olivia—a flamboyant former film star—pretends Sandy is her psychiatrist. As Joan’s white lie spirals out of control, the household is plunged into chaos with Olivia seeking relationship advice, a drama-prone neighbour, a troubled enforcer, and Joan’s gambling son all eager to confide in the “doctor.” Amidst the resulting mayhem, Joan and Sandy’s relationship is pushed to its limits by her tangled web of deception.

A Murder is Announced by Agatha Christie (Thriller)

10th – 14th February 2026

A mysterious newspaper announcement in the sleepy village of Chipping Cleghorn claims a murder will occur at Little Paddocks—drawing both curious neighbours and Miss Marple to the scene. When an intruder is killed during the staged event, Inspector Craddock and the unflappable Miss Marple work together to unravel a labyrinth of secrets, hidden identities, and motives, with Miss Marple’s sharp intuition ultimately exposing the murderer and restoring order to the village.

A Fete Worse than Death by Richard James (Comedy Mystery)

14th – 18th April 2026

Ray Martin, a television actor famed for playing TV’s Inspector Brady, is invited to open the village fete and soon finds himself at the centre of a real-life mystery. The festivities turn deadly in the produce tent, with ambitions, infidelities, and petty rivalries (“marrow envy”) providing plenty of motives. When a not-so-popular figure is murdered, Ray—far from his scriptwriters—must play detective for real, navigating a cast of eccentric villagers in a race to unmask the culprit.

The River by Jez Butterworth (Drama)

16th – 20th June 2026

In Jez Butterworth’s haunting drama The River, a solitary man invites a woman to a remote riverside cabin for a night of fishing, but as the evening unfolds, reality blurs—one woman vanishes, another takes her place, and patterns of love and longing repeat in mysterious cycles. Set against the isolation of the cabin and the lure of the river, this taut, poetic piece weaves intimacy, memory, and suspense into an enigmatic puzzle of connection and loss.

The Ding Dong or Take Me, I’m Yours by Mark Shanahan (Comedy)

11th – 15th August 2026

When Vatelin and his wife Lucienne find their marriage under siege by relentless admirers, their attempts to stay loyal explode into hilarious pandemonium. With lovers lurking, identities muddled, and chaos reigning in a Paris hotel, The Ding Dong is a riot of slamming doors, near-misses, and razor-sharp wit—nobody’s safe, nothing’s sacred, and every farcical twist delivers another laugh.
